Proposed A.C.F. Membership Changes - 05-20-2007

POLICY, Chapter Dinner
Policy No. 03336

Replaces all previous Dinner Policies

 

Chapter dinners are an opportunity for the chef demonstrate their talents and introduce the membership to their establishment.  Chapter Dinners will be held on a bi-monthly basis whenever possible.  The interested chef will make arrangements with the Dinner Chairperson or the Chapter President.

 

The host chef is to develop a theme and menu a minimum of fifty to sixty days in advance.  This information is to be provided to the Dinner Chairman and/or Chapter Secretary in sufficient time to develop an invitation to be mailed to the general membership, Friends of the Chapter and that it can be published in the “Cuisine Scene”.  These invitations/fliers are to be mailed twenty to thirty days before the dinner.

 

The base fee for dinners (excluding the Pasta Festival and Awards Banquet) will be $35.00. (Gratuity not included.)   After the cutoff date the fee will increase to $40.00 per reservation.  The host house will receive $17.00 per reservation.  The Chapter President must approve any increases in the price of dinners.

 

Reservations and payments will be handled exclusively through the chapter.  Reservations will be guaranteed through prepayment. 

 

The Dinner Chairman and/or Chapter Secretary will set the cutoff date for guaranteed reservations. The cutoff date is to be published on the invitation, by separate correspondence, posted on the website and/or published in the “Cuisine Scene”.

 

If payment is not received on time, the Chapter has the option of canceling the reservation and reassigning the space to the next individual on the waiting list.  Reservations are to be made by calling (559) 299-3537.  

 

No reservations or payments are to be made through the sponsoring house or chef. 

 

Cancellation of reservations must be made through the chapter three or more day prior to the dinner.  Late cancellations and no-shows are the responsibility of the booking party and will be billed at the highest rate.

 

 

POLICY, Staggered Elections

1.  The Executive Committee – Elected Officers – President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer will be on staggered elections.

 

2.  The President and Treasurer will be elected for terms of two years.

 

3.  The Vice President and Secretary will be elected on the alternating year for a term of two years.

 

4.  Special Accommodations:  There will be an election at the Annual Business Meeting each year.  Effective in 2005, the offices of Vice President and Secretary will be up for election, and pursuant to these changes the Chapter will begin the staggered election procedure.

 

5.   If an elected officer should resign their position prior to the end of their term.  The Chairman of the Board shall appoint a member to serve as the Interim Officer for the remainder of said term.  At the end of said term the Interim Officer shall be given the opportunity to run for said office on their own ticket.

 

Purpose:

The reason for this police change is to maintain the integrity and continuity of the Executive Committee, so that at no time will the entire Executive Committee be re-elected at one time.
